Bony bream, Nematalosa erebi are a widespread and common, small to medium-sized Australian freshwater fish often found in large shoals and freshwater drainages throughout much of northern and central Australia, the Murray-Darling basin, and Papua New Guinea. It can tolerate a wide ranges of water temperatures and pH, but can be susceptible to low dissolved oxygen levels (Australian.Museum).
