Percalates novemaculeatus (commonly known as the Freshwater Perch or the Australian Bass) is a native Australian freshwater fish, found in south-eastern coastal rivers of Australia. They spend most of their juvenile and adult life in freshwater, then adults migrate into estuaries to spawn (dpi.nsw.gov).
