Mozambique tilapia, (Oreochromis mossambicus), was thought to have been introduced illegally into Australian waterways during the 1970s. The species spread and now has established populations present in many water bodies in Queensland and Western Australia. The species continues to expand its range and is likely to present a significant pest problem (pestsmart.org).
