I bike by a permanently wet gutter at the corner of Wilshire and Manning on my way to work. Too much irrigation from wealthy homes up the hill runs down Manning to Wilshire and collects a bit on this corner. It's amazing to see succession of a wetland plant community happen right here in such an urban setting. I tried to document as many species as I could in a few minutes today.

Acute lobes on clasping portion of leaves. Compare with S. asper.
