I planned a trip to the Central West to attend this event near Garema: Loam's Soil Carbon Field Day - soil carbon projects for cropping and mixed farms🌱. My parents came along because they wanted to see spring flowers, especially canola.
Here are the observations I took during the trip, and I was surprised to see so many adult Amegilla sp. in Orange.
I suspect A. altissima due to the reddish stems.
I don't think it's Murraya koenigii because the leaves lack the distinctive smell when crushed.
2 individuals courting
On Prostanthera rotundifolia. I failed to catch this one.
On Lavandula stoechas. Sample kept alive. Unfortunately, it died within a few hours, so I preserved it in methylated spirits prior to submitting it to a research project at WSU.
On Acer sp.
On cultivated Acacia obtusifolia.
Same individual - first on Wisteria sinensis then on Prunus laurocerasus.
