USDA Plant Profile: Virginia Pepperweed

My chosen EcoQuest challenge, "Must Find Mustards," revolved around documenting the Virginia Pepperweed in New York City. I found the USDA has the Natural Resources Conservation Service that stores basic information about thousands of plant species. The Virginia Pepperweed is a dicot belonging to the family Brassicaceae. It is a vascular plant that grows without significant woody tissue above or at the ground. It is also annual, biennial, and perennial. According to the site, it is an invasive species that is now native in all the states of the Continental United States.
