Two in the lawn. One nectaring on White Clover flowers, the other on Dandelion flowers.
The checkered fringe is somewhat visible in the first photo when the sun was behind a cloud. It isn’t visible in the second, when the sun was out. These skippers stay on the same flower for very long periods of time. There was another one 10 feet away, also on an Oxeye Daisy flower.
Nectaring on Deptford Pink. Wikipedia says, “Its flowers are scentless and do not appear to be insect pollinated often, with self-pollination the norm”. I also noticed a Great Spangled Fritillary nectaring on Deptford Pink flowers today.
