I'm a mostly self-taught naturalist interested in knowing a little bit about everything, but my main expertise is in botany. I'm also the editor of the Ontario Plant Press, the quarterly publication of the Field Botanists of Ontario.

My main botanical interest is the tribe Astereae (asters, goldenrods, fleabanes, etc.) of North America, but my M.Sc. research is on the macrofungi of Ontario's Carolinian Zone.

I live just down the road from the settlement founded by the early Canadian botanist John Goldie.

I collect field guides and I started a Field Guide Exchange group on Facebook.
