My primary area of interest is the natural history of freshwater fishes from Africa and North America, with a particular bias for drably-colored ambush predators, benthic species, airbreathing/amphibious fishes, and other oddballs.

Though I mostly use this site for fish, I also regularly observe non-fish flora and fauna. I'm prepared to admit that my understanding of anything beyond the scope of freshwater ichthyology is rather cursory, so please excuse any egregious misidentifications on that front.
