Claremont, the eastern gateway to Los Angeles County and the western ingress to San Bernardino County, is a border town.
But the City of Trees sits astride another, less widely known but equally important boundary: the urban/wildland interface. The north Claremont foothills are a transition zone or “ecotone” between two ecosystems, coastal sage scrub and chaparral.

Nice article. Trail cameras are opening up a whole new perspective on wildlife behavior and distribution. I, myself, bought a trail camera last year and am pleased with the wildlife activities I am able to document in our small community. Security cameras are also aiding in this documentation.
Yes, I put one out as often as I can. Have gotten a few better pictures of animals than I would have been able to take with my Nikon!
