Seems a replacement name for Kytorhinus scutellaris (Sharp, 1886) [revised from protonym Pygobruchus scutellaris Sharp, 1886, and supposedly a junior subjective synonym of Kytorhinus (Pygobruchus) senilis Solsky, 1869

CoF now recognizes Pseudanthias cheirospilos for the Indo-Pacific populations of P. squamipinnis.

They give distributions as follows:

P. squamipinnis: Red Sea; western Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal, straying to Eastern Cape (South Africa), East Africa, Persian Gulf, Socotra (Yemen), Seychelles, Aldabra (Seychelles), Comoros, Madagascar, Agalega Islands (Mauritius) and western Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius) east to Lakshadweep (India), Maldives and Chagos Archipelago.

P. cheirospilos: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: western Indonesia east to Society Islands (French Polynesia), north to southern Korea and central Japan, south to Western Australia, New Caledonia, Lord Howe Island (Australia) and Tonga.

The latest update of CoF recognizes Amphiprion annamensis , referencing Allen and Erdmann 2024.

CoF and this website (https://amphiprionology.wordpress.com/2016/09/11/amphiprion-polymnus-group/) give the following repartition and criteria:

• for A. annamensis: South China Sea (from Thailand to the Philippines), North to Japan and Taiwan. Middle stripe broad and does not reach belly, no posterior stripe.
• for A. polymnus: Indonesia, southern Malaysia and Philippines, south to Australia, east to Melanesia. Middle stripe reaches belly, posterior stripe present (not always in Melanesian populations).

I've checked the atlasing and it works well.
