Description
Little guy ran into a window at full speed and was stunned. At first I really did not know if he would make it and followed the wise internet's advice - move the bird into a shoebox so it has a safe place to recover. When I went to gently pick the bird up, it squeaked and flew a tiny distance to hang onto this piece of nearby wood. It stayed for a long time recovering, just slowly blinking. I was borrowing my dad's Nikon and got some nice close up-shots. When I came back to check on it later, it had flown away. Happy ending!
Update: he did it again https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/190730086

Located under a maple tree on the edge of a gravel path that leads into the forested Muskoka Bible Centre campground.
Scent was mild, earthy and woody, almost like cauliflower.
Size: the largest one was about the size of your average cauliflower.
Several slugs were on the fungi when I first found it.
