Roadkill individual. These were taken by an another individual on a project that I was involved with. I did not make this observation personally but the photos are geotagged and dated. I'm posting them here due to the significance of the observation. The original gps point had the animal about 150m south of the freeway, so I moved it north to reflect a more accurate location on the roadside.

Description
Incidental & opportunistic. I was visually checking a drying cattle pond for frogs, saw some movement in the extremely shallow water, and could make out the elongated bodies of salamander larvae. A quick check to confirm/ID species and safely released. The remnant water was only as deep as the height of these guys (how I saw their backs & tails at the water surface). They may not make metamorphosis.
