This mongoose first entered my home without any sign of fear or intimidation. After doing an inspection of the rooms it peacefully sauntered out the front door and down the garden path, after looking me straight in the eyes. I couldn't find my phone to record but a while later I followed after it with camera in hand and found it with a freshly killed domestic chick. It was unperturbed by my presence and proceeded to eat some of its prey while I was taking photos. Amazing to have witnessed it so closely.

This plant has white/translucent fruit, but growth form is not as described in the Restio Key. Culms arise over a large area as from a plant with extensive rhizomes.
'Limestone bedrock, well drained soils, plants seem to prefer to grow among other bushes or rocks - cooler. Alt 10 - 200m.' - quoting 2011 Restio Key.
