Begonia teresita (Begonia obliqua), Begoniaceae. Hierba nativa de los bosques lluviosos de América Central, de cuya especie original se han desarrollado muchas variedades de follaje y floración ornamentales, convirtiéndola en una de las begonias más comunes. Son plantas monoicas lo cual significa que una misma planta posee las flores masculinas y las flores femeninas separadas. Los pétalos blancos y rosados son carnosos y de sabor ácido, y algunas personas tienen el hábito de comerlos incluso agregándoles sal.
