Solitary and found in the deciduous sandy floodplain of the Mississippi (Oak, Cottonwood, Elm, Ash, Buckthorn). Fruity, fragrant smell although a bit unpleasant. Convex to nearly round, reddish brown cap with dark brown scales. White, fibrillous stipe. Could be Echinoderma asperulum or E. asperum ?
