Two month old cougar kill site using a collared cougar and verification by track and sign specialists and cougar biologists, with scratches on both a vertical tree and a horizontal, fallen tree.
NOTE: This type of scratching is relatively rare for cats in general. Most often, large scratches in trees are from bears.

The tracks are in town but somewhat away from development (the old dump) and near the wildlife corridors of the Yukon River and MacIntyre Creek. The tracks cut through trees off of the trail in a direct route that eventually led to the steep valley of MacIntyre Creek and headed down the hill.
