Description
Spotted one of these tiny spiders on a leaf below me, then saw another. They seemed to be signaling each other, came closer together. I took as many photos as I could before they disappeared. On the computer I could see that one had offered the other an ant.

Argiope web design
I read somewhere that an Argiope spider changes the shape of its stabilimentum (the conspicious silk 'decoration' at the hub of the web) from a disk, to a cross and, finally, to a vertical or diagnoal bar as it grows up.
This species seems to follow the described sequence. Mouse over the pics to read the captions. The sizes in mm are of body-length, excluding the legs.
