Being eaten by a Santa Fe Lava Lizard.
Landed on apartment complex fence.
My neighbor caught this snake and he ate it… I didn’t see its head
2 of 2 half block from original pair found.
Found sitting in the road with wings splayed out, unmoving. Picked him up out of the road (he opened his eyes and squeaked loudly) and watched for about ten minutes to see if he'd recover on his own, and then walked back to my car, put him in a little box, and brought him to the wildlife rehab in Burlingame. On the walk back he'd occasionally rouse and open his eyes, peck me gently, move his wings, clutch my hand with his feet, etc., and seemed to gradually be getting more active, so hopefully with some sugar water and a rest in rehab he might recover.
Nothing obvious in the area, so I assume a window strike that flew off at the time of impact but didn't make it too far.
Just hatched
Presumably deliberately introduced, right next to a road in an easily accessible location.
Update: Plant has been removed after notifying park staff.
Very tiny juvenile
little guy was hopping around the front step
Six individuals, one adult male, one adult female, and four juveniles under bag of garden soil.
Scorpion: No. No way. Don't you dare pose me on the silly fluffy moss. You see these? I'll kill you for this.
