Description
Initially thought it was M. urens group since she was approximately that size (no bigger than 10mm) but the mandibles appear to be dark and shaped pilosula like, in addition to much less coarse microsculpturing.

Description
Winter active, their nests are sealed off during warmer months.
Turret entrances (5th photo) are only built during wetter (La Niña?) winters. They start as a loose cone of soil granules which consolidate to a tube in damp weather and are then extended. This turret has collapsed to a mud puddle in heavy rain but has been rebuilt was still growing at the time I photographed it.
See https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/196889788ee for the termite.

Description
The Lioponera seemed to be moving into a nest of a Mesostruma turneri colony. I don't think they were raiding, as the Lioponera only moved their brood in and never took any Mesostruma brood out. Alates and a dealate moved in also. Neither species seemed aggressive, mostly just ignored each other. Strange!
In the L. turneri group, very close to L. larvata.
