Description
About 3/4 inch long, it was found at the bottom of an outdoor stairwell where I had the "bug lights" set up. I moved it up to the bushes by the pond.

Description
Common name: Common Sand Dollar
Location found: on the ocean side of Crane Beach Ipswich, MA. The sand dollar was found on top of the sand outside of the tidal zone among some other broken sand dollars. It has some slight color in it however was light nonetheless therefore we believed it to be dead.
Habitat types: temperate and tropical waters of the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean
Physical description: the sand dollar was small, round, and very young with some slight pink tones left in the middle and white everywhere else. It was about 1-1.5cm long.
Fun fact: sand dollars have a star shaped mark on their test (their exoskeleton)
