What is this?! I found it in a rainwater bucket, it appears to be some sort of jelly with specks inside. When I poked it with a stick it stuck to it with a string of mucus. Not sure if it was ever even alive but thought iNat could help.

Feral chicken sits on top of his hospital cage after being rescued from a cat and the attacks of the rest of the flock. Second and third pics are of his injuries. Main pic and last pic are from 3 weeks later.
The neighborhood in which this was taken hosts some 1200 chickens, 60 guinea-fowl and >20 peacocks, all living loose and feral/wild in the yards and parks.
