Description
Since there doesn't appear to be a 'White Lacewing' family, I'm assuming that this is a teneral Brown Lacewing which has just emerged from the pupal stage and hasn't darkened yet. Whatever it is, it has exquisitely veined wings!

Description
Along with Dragonflies and Damselflies, Mayflies belong to an ancient group of insects known as the Palaeoptera, meaning 'old-winged'. Scientifically, Mayflies are known as the order Ephemeroptera, a name referring to the short, or ephemeral, adult stage which lasts only a few hours or, at most, a couple of days. This image was made more than a decade ago with my first DSLR.
