Brazilian Skipper (one of three present) nectaring on Shrimp Plant (Justicia brandegeeana) in my yard on a co0l, cloudy, damp morning.
This nectar plant cultivar, Justicia brandegeana 'Fruit Cocktail' has been more of an attractant that the species or 3 other cultivars I have.
In 2016 more numerous than the typically common Phoebis sennae.

Fiery Skipper On American Waterwillow
Both this species of butterfly and this species of wildflower are very tiny. I would never have noticed their beauty if I had not started taking photos then enlarging them. There is so much beauty right under our nose that we never see.

Pearl Crescent On American Waterwillow
I was laying on my back under a patch of American Waterwillow and waiting for one of the butterflies in the area to stop by. I was able to get a different perspective. The sun is shining thru the butterfly's wings. This is a very tiny butterfly. This was an experiment, do you like it?

Female in flowering Chuparosa
Now there are lots of orange “honeysuckles”, the bees really like this bush. There are lots of bees attracted to the smell this plants pollen is given off.
This plant is in the Acanthaceae family. Chuparosa is recognized by its orange, tube-like flowers. I was lucky enough to get a picture while a hummingbird was drinking its nectar! This sighting was in Tahquitz Canyon.
