Description
At the time, I thought this was a bryophyte of some sort. Later I decided it was probably a club moss, and in particular Selaginella wallacei. I would appreciate confirmation, as this would be the first documentation in Alaska (there was a subsequent collection made in 2012 from the southern most part of Alaska), and the furthest north record of this species, as best I can tell.

This plant was at the edge of the trail and I have not refound it since. Some of us have thought it may have been introduced with trail building materials, then disappeared.
