photo de médiocre qualité, mais qui démontre que cette espèce sort parfois de la forêt pour se trouver sur un poteau béton électrique à environ 15 m de haut. Les premier arbres de la lisière forestière sont à une distance de 10m.

FLECKS et al. (2012) separated the Vanuatu populations as G. georgpotthasti; hence G. vorax does not occur on Vanuatu and the Loyalty Islands. In fact, FLECKS et al. restrict G. vorax to the populations on Fiji and Tonga.

INADVERTENT TRANSLOCATION OF MARBLED LEAF-TOED GECKO FROM SOUTH AFRICA TO SEYCHELLES: Upon arriving in Seychelles on holiday (on 20 Oct. 2022), an adult Marbled Leaf-toed Gecko (Afrogecko porphyreus) was discovered in my wife’s main luggage. This gecko is presumably from our home in Lakeside (South Africa) where the species is fairly common, e.g.: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/52301783. The specimen was not released in Seychelles.

I was slightly surprised to see this species in our backyard.

Several weeks ago, our neighbour said that he had seen several "Mauereidechsen" (= Podarcis muralis) in his yard, and now this fellow shows up.....
