Thrall, Williamson Co TX
Three of the four young were a reddish brown color while the female and one young were the normal dark color. I have never seen an orange/red phase but these match some of the photos that I found on the internet
@sambiology , Sam do you know if TPW has info on the distribution of the red/orange phase in Texas or if these are samples of that phase.

I am thinking this is a female since it was quite small, not much bigger than some of the well-fed Gray Squirrels that hang around my house. This may be the same animal I saw twenty minutes later on a different part of the trail, less than a quarter of a mile away.
