Had a nice day in the Upper and Middle Keys. I came down to give a talk to the Garden Club of the Upper Keys in Tavernier at 11AM and spent the rest of the day bioblitzing a few spots. More info about GCUP here: https://gardenclubupperkeys.org/

Beautiful species!
4 in one spot
not A. ellipticus; comparison with one in the last photo. a little searching around turned up the species A. steptus which bears a passing resemblance, but I'm not sure it's a perfect match.
IDd at UFRGS carcinology lab. Last pics show male pleopod 1 endopod with a lobe that is diagnostic for this species as well as exopod shape. Other characters also match with species description
In crevice about four feet up in cliff face (see second image.) Might be the same species as http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/6992810
Abundant under rocks in upper intertidal zone along cobblestone beach. Alloniscus?
Night walk from small inlet on East Cape back to my campsite
Seen on a three day solo camping trip to East Cape in Everglades National Park (Cape Sable). I was particularly excited to go shelling on the beach (did not collect any shells, as that is prohibited in ENP) and also try some blacklighting out there.
