First state record!
On a fallen branch of Prunus serotina (black cherry). Fungal parasite potentially present. The host and yellow color may suggest this species: https://lichenportal.org/portal/taxa/index.php?taxon=125911&clid=201

Schizophyllum commune
Identified as Schizophyllum commune on Bowerbird by Ken Walker
This was enormous. I wish I had measured it but there is an oak leaf for general scale.
Only caught the eggs, but was grateful to see them!

Inside a rotten log, possibly pine or cedar, but not sure.
I think it hasn’t opened its leaves yet.
Amazing! The root found a way through a tiny crack in the boulder.
On striped maple (Acer pennsylvanicum.
Best nudibranch shot of the trip :-)
a) The jumping spider resemblance is insane. b) The range of sizes among adults is insane. What is up with this fly.

Outer shells have started breaking away from the gall like a Transformer. The insides have softened after a rainstorm, and the larvae have started emerging. 2.5-3mm long. Multiple larvae in each gall.
