I saw a Northern Dusky Salamander in this small creek last year in September but was unable to hold it long enough for a photo. They are quick! I've also noticed that Northern Duskys tend to pick less submerged rocks compared to Two-Line Salamanders. For example I'll often find Northern Two-Lined Salamanders under thin rocks that are half submerged in the stream but Nortgern Dusky Salamanders will be on a damp rock setting atop other rocks which are partially submerged. The rocks Duskys seem to prefer have more space underneth and overlook the stream rather than being directly in it.

A spotted salamander without spots!
Has anyone ever seen markings like this? I'm guessing it's a green frog with some kind of pigment disorder, but would love to hear thoughts!
