Learned something new again. Apparently fairybells (Prosartes lanuginosa) have ant-dispersed seeds.

Description
Northern hardwood forest. M. didyma and M. clinopodia growing alongside these suspected hybrid individuals. Lots of variation here. From deep purple to more of a pink. I suspected the pink individuals might be M. fistulosa, but the looking back at the key, these plants didn’t match with the upper lip being tufted. There were more so uniformly pubescent. Thoughts about their identity are welcomed!

Trout lily - no auricles at the base of the petals, indicating E. umbilicatum. Lots of small foliage as well in that area, this was the only mature one I found in bloom.

A good friend of mine found this on a hike on the East side of the Linville Gorge. She was told by a Facebook group that this is a rare find. Does anyone have anything to add about this statement?

Description
.5 to .75 DM tall. Strong/wondefrul odor like floral cloves. 15 stems in flower. Found by smell(first smelled while biking). This is on National Forest Land. It is about 10 feet from a black locust flagged for cutting by the NFS fire crew. I put two pink flags around the population.
One of the most beautiful fragrances I have ever experienced.

Description
Found on Three Top Mountain Game Land Preserve. Located in a Montane Seep environment, three noticeable individual plants at different stages of blossoming. Zygomorphic blooms only observed in a light shade of pink. Leaves seemed to be long and ovate, with an alternating growth pattern. Love me a good orchid.
