This bobcat was about 20 ft. in front of me on the trail. When it saw me, it climbed the fence into a horse enclosure (the horses couldn't care less). Two little birds were watching it fearlessly as it climbed the fence. I think the bobcat might've been after some turkeys who were making a fuss. It sauntered through the horse enclosure, not in a hurry at all. Then it climbed another fence and disappeared into the tall grass. So cool to see a bobcat this close!
Note: unfortunately, some of these pictures were taken through tall grass/weeds, so they didn't turn out as well as the ones with the vivid blue sky as background.
This cat was very tame and startled me by jumping on what was likely a lizard, within a few feet of my leg, before I knew the cat was there. It continued hunting small animals next to the trail and did not shy away, as I walked by.
The mountain lion was running up the hill on the street, I approached slowly to take a picture. When I was 100 ft away it ran up the hill.
Photo taken by Dane Meyer. Young bobcat photographed from the road!
It spent a long time hunting (well, staring at a hole) ... but no success this time.
Found a bobcat paw print on the trail so I was not surprised to see this beautiful bobcat on the way back of my hike.
A failed hunting attempt. Watched it for a while crouched by a hole. It shoved its paw down into the hole and came up with nothing. It sitting looking back at me is after the failed attempt.
They have been around this grape bush in this redwood forest, fairly active for the past couple of days as observed by the person who works here every day (that I spoke with.)
