I see some hair on the stem and sepals and the leaves are widest in the middle. But I have a hard time following the key I used with my pictures so just a guess.

Surprise find in the front yard - ladies' tresses blooming in an unmowed patch of former lawn. I've never planted or sowed any so this must have come in as a volunteer. I'm thrilled! That's the second orchid species popping up on its own in my yard this summer. There were two plants, both fairly tall (>2 ft) and with no leaves at bloom time, so I think they are slender ladies' tresses.

This groundhog apparently lives under the cabin at the Daniel Boone Native Gardens - and does not like to pose for pictures. It has taken me over a year to finally get one.
