Probably on the remains of Lactarius deceptivus.

Found near Lackawanna trail in mulched debris growing with ferns and other shrubbery. Strong blueing when bruised, spore print also typical of this species which is a purplish brown to almost black color. First found last year in another location and was verified by Mr. Alan Rockefeller.
