Seen on power-lines in Halsmere St Geebung.
I saw this bird early this morning in a patch of scrub on the north bank of Downfall Creek within the eastern end of 7th Brigade park, Chermside. The photo is not brilliant but does show the diagnostic crest and the white flash under the tail and - not very clearly - the white cheek patch. The behaviour of the bird was very characteristic. I will keep an eye open for it; I think I have seen it before in that area within the past few months but this is the first time I've gotten any sort of a photo. I have not yet heard its call.
I saw this young Eastern Water Dragon - which has a deformed tail-tip - note "fork" - on the afternoon of 17th April 2020, on the north side of Main Avenue, WAvell Heights, above the head of a gully that runs north and east to join Downfall Creek. I have never before seen a water dragon anywhere with a tail deformed in this way.
Group of flying-foxes (not sure of sp.) camped in fig-tree beside Somerset Creek in 7th Brigade Park Chermside north of the Historic Precinct.
