The lighter one on the background is for decoration only. The one I am looking for help is the darker one. Thanks.

On the drive to the Geraldine Watson Rare Native Plant Preserve, we stopped at the Big Thicket visitor center to check out the event to be held that day.
Observed along road after the Geraldine Watson Rare Native Plant Preserve plant walk with Joe Liggio.
Made some observations upon arrival at the park prior to a presentation and mothing event with Sam Kieschnick and the Brazos Valley TMN chapter.
Am afraid it was the beginning of an evening of less than perfect photos. :-(
After the El Camino Real Chapter board meeting, I made a visit to the park. When I am there, there are usually several cars parked near the pond. People do frequent this manicured park. This was a CWA project that used native petrified wood, sandstone. and oak logs to build clubhouses, barbecue pits, bridges, tables and seats.
After running an errand in Giddings, I stopped by the city park to investigate. Found a manicured area with sports fields, a playground, picnic tables, and a parking lot for sports attendees.
Just outside for a while to see what there was to see. The longer I was out, the worse the plants got and the worse my photos of stressed and wilted plants became.
After attending a Milam Co. Genealogical Society Meeting at the library and a quick trip into the grocery store, I explored the plants in the area behind the small town shopping center.

This observation made to document the odd growth of the trunk. Would be interesting to know the cause of the bends.
