On Citrus.
Located on road south of Spring (parallel to it) accessed by turning right just after the fee kiosk. Tree is on south side just east of short staff access road under power lines. Large bifurcated trunk that I could not measure. Height has been pruned because of power lines.
Near corner of los Arcos and Studebaker Road in Long Beach in El Dorado Park. 3rd Street tree east of corner on south side. Not sure of dieback. Other sycamores in area.
On south side of 1st St. between Cherry and Junipero in Bixby Park- third tree in from Cherry. Estimate of dieback because most leaves are gone. There are 10 sycamores in this block- 8 seem healthy? The southernmost one near Junipero may have a heavy infestation of the moths that leave bigger holes?
As you can somewhat make out in the photo, this tree is the second row of trees off the park- facing the park it is just to the right of the green garbage area and just left of the no parking sign. It usually has a trash can at the base.
Old holes, 4 sycamores infested
Three trees/branches. Photos of eastern trunk. IHSB signs in each. Watch out for used syringes on the ground.
Alnus rhombifolia host tree, growing with 2 other infested alder trunks and a sycamore. Sycamore infestation recorded in separate observation. Some staining.
Platanus racemosa host tree, growing in stand with alders in middle of stream bed. Alders have some ISHB as well, recorded in separate observation. No evidence of staining or damage on this tree.
In an urban wash where previous infestations have been reported. Most of the trees there looked fine but there were a few with staining.
Stem with the most holes was dead, the other stems of the same tree had leaves.
In Recreation Golf Course near SE corner of 6th and Park- enter on 6th. Near previous reported tree, and other sycamores that didn’t seem to be infected but need to be checked.
Located in Recreation Park Golf course near SE corner of 6th St. and Park. Enter on 6th St. Several smaller sycamores near it, but don’t think they are infested except for next one I am reporting.
Located is Recreation Park golf course near 6th and Santiago. A couple of younger sycamores by it may not be infected. My first observation for the project so give me feedback. There are 2 more on the golf course I think are infected - will document.
