Tons removed for being invasive. Population still seems pretty damaged due to my previous removal efforts which is good!
Oh wow, this is interesting. It turns out this apple snail cracked its shell and was able to repair it even though the cracks were far up and not at the aperture which I didn’t know they could do.
Finally found a place where I could catch apple snails during winter! The water was shallow and clear so even though they were hiding in the mud I still could find em.
Eggs present but no snails seen at all due to them hiding during winter.
13 removed- Their populations are extremely low now and any live ones were very lethargic. This is probably because of winter.
Extreme die off due to drought and winter. Didn’t see a single live one. Their population is completely devastated which is very good since they’re invasive.
Largest one found today
Just the ones I was able to clean out- I removed a entire bag of them to help out the environment
I was bored
I actually noticed each lake has it’s own variety of channeled apple snails. Like the ones in Papago park were all very bluish while the ones in Eldorado park were much more brown
Actually much fewer apple snails here than in other lakes. Yes, the water was more murky so I couldn’t see all of them but there were much less eggs.
Massive
Destroyed almost every eggsac I could find. Had to go in above knee deep water though
No live ones seen but much more egg sacs than last time I came here
45 invasive snails removed along with a ton of eggs!
Absolutely no sign of any live ones except for the fact that I found 2 live egg cases. The rest were dead. They’re all hiding due to winter.
All the pink stuff in the water is all the eggs I destroyed- I got well over a hundred eggs so hopefully it makes a difference
I noticed there to be much more eggs along the lake than last time I came which is worrisome
