Description

This is a banana and we Pohnpeians call it kaimana. I will talk about how to make uht pwal piahia. First thing to do is peel the banana skins and soak them in water. After that, you will cut them in half and place them in a pot. Then you move on to making your coconut milk. You have to mix the coconut with a little bit of water and squeeze it into the pot. After that, you can place the pot on the stove. When it boils, you will add sugar and let it cook until it’s ready. This plant is monocot.

First, grind the coconut and squeeze it to make coconut milk. And peel off the unripe banana skin and grate it into a basin. Then, put water in a pot along with 4 tablespoons of sugar and put it on the stove to boil. While waiting for the water to boil, you can start making the grated banana into any kind of shape you like and slide it into the boiling water then steer until it’s well cooked. Then pour in the coconut milk and mix it together to taste.

In Pohnpei, we refer to this dish as "Uht," though it’s also known as "Banana." It’s a simple, everyday food that can be prepared whenever you want. The ingredients I use are sugar, salt, and coconut oil. A generous amount of sugar is necessary for a comforting flavor, along with a small pinch of salt and the oil from two coconuts.
