I'm going back to some of my earliest wildlife images. These are scans from old prints and slides. This bass was caught by my then-father-in-law in Lake Nasworthy, San Angelo, TX.
(That's not John Denver holding the fish. Back in that era, he looked like me.)

Doesn't have "ear flap" on operculum. In school with longear sunfish.

Any ID help is appreciated. There were at least 100 individuals in this very shallow water. The depth ranged from 1 to 6 inches where I saw the fish.
