Used dip net to collect at Jens A Caspersen boat landing; approximately 150 m along small stream leading to Minnesota River just NW of western-most parking lot, from stream mouth to 2nd culvert; also around boat launch; over a 2 hr period.

Orange eyes is a sign that this Northern Goshawk is an adult but not very old. The oldest birds would have reddish eyes. Captured, banded and released at Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory [October; Duluth, Minnesota]
