European Firebug (Pyrrhocoris apterus) is a common, flying, black and red-orange insect in the Red and Bordered Plant Bugs (Pyrrhocoroidea) superfamily. "Pyrrhocoris apterus is distributed throughout the Palaearctic from the Atlantic coast of Europe to northwest China. They are frequently observed forming aggregations, especially in their nymph stage, that contain tens to a hundred individuals."
