In Rainbow Valley Conservation Reserve
Night bird. I have heard this call for years, wondered if it is an owl or something else.
Initially had this identified as Forster's Tern, but wondering if it's a Common Tern. There were a group of 6, so different photos may not be the same bird.
Pelicans have their own observation.
Hate this phone's zoom...
Some kind of woodpecker. Had a call like a squeaky toy.
In Australia, this bird is commonly known as the Olive-backed Sunbird around my area, but I understand that this group has since been split, according to DNA and plumage differences. My current understanding is that the cinnyris frenatus /Sahul Sunbird has the yellow above and below the eye, whilst the cinnyris jugulatus/ Garden Sunbird male has a brown head. I assumed incorrectly that all Australian sunbirds were called Olive-backed. I hope I've got it right now.
Approximate location.
Possibly mate of earlier cardinal.
