500+ mussel bed. This scene repeated over 100 times in course of 3-4 hour paddle. Easily 50,000 mussels here, majority Elliptios, then Lampmussels.
Many live mussels by water's edge that I was unable to ID.

Killed by Fernaldi Robber Fly (last picture before he finished his BB-shake). I read that B. vos has yellow stripes underneath and B. caliginosus white stripes, yes or no as a means of telling them apart??
