In tree - no sighting. I'm proud to say this the first sound recording i've done on iNaturalist NZ. It took a few goes before i got it sorted - and inevitably the bird went quiet for much of the recording :-). However there is a little bit of screech at the beginning then quite a bit more at end.

I have no idea if this is an insect, but looks like young form of something. Very tiny, maybe 3mm across. You can only see it by comparing pics. Tootled around when I disturbed its hiding place, so I have quite good video, but can't upload to here.
May have been planted in our yard.
I'm thinking that these are mahonia rather than barberry seedlings. Parents of both are nearby. This is the Mahonia adult.
