Found under a log in Jericho Research Forest in Jericho VT at 3:30 PM. The temperature was 55º F and there was light rain. The individual was about 50 ft from a vernal pool, and no other individuals were found under the log. The habitat was located on top of a steep incline in a dense mixed coniferous forest
A breading pair found at 9:10 PM on Pond rd in Shelburne, VT. It was 51º F and lightly raining. One side of the road had coniferous forest, and the other side a small creek and a marsh. The pair were crossing to the marsh side and were observed with Spring Peepers, Northern Leopard Frogs, and Spotted Salamanders

Found in freshwater stream under a rock. The surrounding forest seemed to be mostly young hardwood trees, and the weather was about 50 F and partly cloudy at about 1pm. Several other frog and salamander species were found nearby. This individual seemed to have lost the tip of its tail at some point but was in the middle of regrowing it.

Collected as part of a sample for Bsal in a vernal pool. The pool was drying up and didn't contain many adult amphibians, but there were several wood frog and spotted salamander egg masses. The weather was about 60 F with slight precipitation. This individual appears to be a pregnant female.
Red-bellied Woodpeckers were heard calling and spotted foraging on tree trunks and snags.
Downy Woodpeckers were frequently spotted throughout the park. Two groups of three were spotted, as well as four separate individuals at other points throughout the trip.
Hairy Woodpeckers were spotted pecking on tree trunks.

Common Ravens were heard calling, and individuals were seen flying over. One perched on an old snag to eat. They were distinguished from crows from their larger size and calls.
Black-capped Chickadees were often heard calling/singing and spotted in flocks, often with other small songbirds.
White-breasted Nuthatches were seen foraging on tree trunks and branches. They were also heard calling frequently.
Two individuals were spotted. One was spotted near a flock including Black-capped Chickadees and White-breasted Nuthatches. The second was spotted in conifers near the beach.
Northern Cardinals were often heard singing and were spotted in small trees and shrubs.
Grey Squirrels were seen hopping between trees and running across the ground.
Black-capped Chickadees were frequently heard calling/singing and seen hopping between trees.
White-breasted Nuthatches were heard singing. One was spotted on a large snag.
Two Brown Creepers were heard singing. One was spotted on the large snag, while the second was spotted on a smaller tree behind it.
One Winter Wren was spotted in a pile of woody debris and was seen hopping across the ground.
One male Mallard was seen on Potash Brook.
One Downy Woodpecker was spotted on fallen woody debris.
The snake was spotted in the leaf litter on the loop trail.
