Field Notes - found these fungi growing well after 4 days of rain
Nathan campus, Griffith Uni. After much rain, a good time to look for interesting fungi in the forrest.
Anyone care to offer and ID on any of these fungi? The old dry fungus was lower down on the same tree as photo 1, and photos 3 & 4 are top and bottom of a fungus in a tree in the same vicinity. All were taken at Enoggera reservoir (Brisbane) in dry sclerophyll forest.
Maximum cap 84 mm; five in all, but others already kicked. Growing in mowed grass area. No yellow or other staining; clean "mushroomy" smell.
Fort Road Bushland, Oxley.
10.83 hectares, dry rainforest.
Enormous, approx 40cm
