Found on a thevunderside of a dead tree.
The large bird had soft, light brown feathers which were noticed, and the black spots on the wings as well. It cooed lightly from the sycamore branch, then flew away into the shadows of the Coast Live Oak Woodland.
From the first photo to the last photo 44 seconds had elapsed. In this time the hornbill had swallowed all but the tail of the snake - and the snake was writhing all the time.
The hornbill was with one other hornbill.
