Caught by net in the ocean by park ranger Phillip Elanik @clauden can you have a look at this one. It wasn’t familiar to the rangers as a Dolly Varden Char, the common species here.
Found in the stream that leads into Misty Lake while searching for the stream variant of Misty Lake Stickleback from where the logging road crosses (none found). Hoping these are native here and not introduced, as crayfish introduction was what caused the extinction of Vancouver Island’s other unique stickleback variant pair in Enos Lake
6 cm long. Dead on a sandbank at extreme low tide. Not sure of species or family. Surfperch? Not a flatfish.
