There was two together. Very large wingspan, grey.
Grey, about 2ft tall from looking at one, lives on an island, some yellow around eyes
Found below a bald eagle nest. One fully intact bird and another with head and leg separated. The heads and bodies confirmed the species, and I presumed the link to the lone leg, but the leg potentially be from a coot or other grebe.
Jawbone of some sort of mammal
Using a macro lens works pretty well for small herps
Had just started to cross road that was getting busy. Assisted across to other side.
Eating a Blackburnian Warbler
This has been sitting in the community garden for years. No clue who brought it or from where; just wondering what kind of jawbone it is.
Update: Uploaded a picture with a 15-inch ruler. Also threaded a piece of wire (not pictured) through the foramen, just to confirm it went through. It did.
